Training To A Better Me

On December 31st I clicked on a Facebook post about a Fitness New Year's Challenge Group. After reading the post, I learned that it was on sale & would begin on the 11th.
On sale?!
Of course, I signed up.
I didn't really know what I was getting myself into so I talked my friend into joining it with me. We've been each other's accountability partners since college & we had been both slacking the last few years. This has been a great way to get back into it & checking in with each other.
We are in our third week now & I am loving it.
On January 2nd, My trainer messaged me asking what my goals were for this challenge. Normally, I would initially panic about now creating goals for this new thing I signed up for, but surprisingly I messaged her right back with my answers.
They were to:
Gain consistency with my workout routine.
Tone my body.
Improve my endurance.
Establish an exercise ritual that I will continue far past the 8 weeks.
Overall, just get my body moving again.
I impressed myself!
We are now into our third week and I have been taking pictures to track my transformation.
Below are the comparisons of week 1 & week 3.
There isn't much change if any that is visible to the eye.
Well, I got some sun & my hair looks so much healthier now because I finally got it cut after three years! Between moving to a new state & a pandemic it made it nearly impossible to get a hair appointment. So, I patiently waited until I could see my Aunt Trinaty, a hairstylist in Sebastian, FL. She owns Island Style Hair Studio & I help run their social media accounts. Be sure to give them a follow for hair and self-care tips. .
As I was saying, you can't really see any physical changes yet...but that's not what matters.
I am feeling so much better! Mentally & physically. I can already tell that my endurance has improved. I have been incredibly consistent with morning workouts, prepping lunches, and planning dinners so that I can work out in the evenings if I missed my morning routine.
I have also been keeping a mood log in my Life Planner and as you can tell I have been consistently Joy (happy, excited, focused, relaxed). There have been some Fearful (scared, anxious, worried stressed) sprinkled in there but I am training to be a better me each day! I have no doubt that I will reach my 2nd goal by the end of the challenge.

What types of exercises do you love? Do you meal plan & prep? Do you keep a mood log? Let me know on Instagram @always_willow & don't forget to subscribe to my blog. I hope you have been enjoying my posts lately. I have stepped away from the plants recently only because my focus is on myself & that is why I decided to share my current journey with you.
Keep taking care of yourself Willow Family.
Always,
Erikka
